Rigbyin it Up
We had a ton of fun hanging out with the Rigbys. In this case the photos are worth much more than anything I could say about it.

Reaping the Rewards
As a bribe motivation my mom promised Rocky that if she stopped sucking her thumb she could go to Lagoon. It has been hard for her but she did it and thanks to her hard work we all got to have a really fun day together.
It was a blast. We rode the rides, swam in the pools, and ate the ice cream. It couldn't have been a better day.
Thanks Oma and Opa for the good time.

Why So Serious?
Nothing like a grape popsicle to make my kids look like creepers.
Daisy doesn't feel fully dressed unless she is wearing the necklaces and bracelets she made with Kristin. She's pretty good at going punk. And at doing whatever style this is.
We were picking up some tacos and she wouldn't get out of the car until she could put on some lip gloss. I thought that she was done with the dress up and then she snuck up on me looking like this.
I've heard of this type of thing happening before, when a mother doesn't even see the small changes her child is making until one moment they look up and things have gotten completely out of hand.
Last night we had a blast with a bunch of the Rigbys at the Drive In. We saw Despicable Me 2 and Monsters University. Rocky and Daisy were out of their heads with excitement but their enthusiasm still paled in comparison to that of their dad's. He planned everything and filled the back of the van with blankets. It was so fun to be snuggled up together snacking on Red Vines and playing Uno while we waited for the show to start.
We found these Monster lollipops and the cousins took turns scaring each other. I forgot my camera but Cara shared these photos with me.
Jill took these pictures while we were in New York.
They had so much fun while we were gone that I think they might wish that we were still out of town.
The big news in the neighborhood is that Malece is in town.
Malece is in this season of So You Think You Can Dance. Her mom lives across the street and since we always root for the home team my girls have been watching with their Oma. They are huge fans and when they heard that she was in town they drew her pictures and Mom took them over to pay her a visit.

Jill and I were too scared to go over at first because it feels weird to bug celebrities but after I saw how sweet she was to the girls I had to get out my camera. She was adorable and gracious and she made Rocky and Daisy feel so special. She gave them pins and signed a poster for them. If you haven't seen her dance you should check it out because she really is fantastic. The show is on Tuesday night so watch it and don't forget to vote.

Camping
Waking up early seems more fun when you do it in a tent.
Daisy and Oma worked hard on the scavenger hunt. The winner was promised a $1 bill as a prize but they all worked so hard that it was hard to determine who it was. In the end my mom ended up with an empty wallet and a bunch of happy kids.
They made bead necklaces and bracelets and also spent hours gluing googly eyes to rocks and sticks. Rocky made herself a pet rock named Rocko and Daisy made a piece of bark with one eye which she named Frankie and insists is a zombie.
Instead of hiking bald mountain like we have in the past it seemed like more fun to try something new. After reading in Jeff's hiking guide we settled on a four mile route that promised to be "all downhill." It said that an experienced hiker should be able to make it in an hour.
We thought it would be perfect to keep things short because we had left all the kids back at camp.
It was a beautiful afternoon with a nice cool breeze and we were thrilled with the beauty of the scenery.
After a couple of miles we stopped for a snack break. After consulting the book it looked like it was going to end up being more like 5 miles. We briefly discussed the idea of turning back but after Jeff read the description of the gorgeous view we would get of the lake from above we unanimously decided to carry on. I can't remember all the details but I remember that it said that words cannot describe, and pictures cannot depict the breathtaking view.
With an endorsement like that how could we not go?
Instead of being back in 1 hour it took us 6. By the end we were all out of water and Sue saved everyone when she snuck into a stranger's camp and filled the water bottles from their cooler.
The "killer hike" has already become one of my favorite memories with my family. It was worth it for the view but it would have been worth it just for the stories.
Rosy spent the time that we were gone with her new BFF Gertie.
Matt made a camping masterpiece with his s'more flavored Woof 'em. If you don't know what that is then you are seriously missing out.
We had a contest to see who could make the best mad face and I thought that Rocky was definitely in the running.
We also had a chance to cool off in the Provo Falls.
The Isaacson family camping trip is the best. Next year if I remember I will actually take pictures of my cousins and aunts and uncles. I really love them all so much and it is the best when we can hang out.
