Quality Time

We have been having a lot of fun just hanging out.  My kids keep counting down days until Christmas and I keep telling them to look around and how much fun they are having right now.
Just Another Day at the Office

It isn't a Rigby party if we aren't watching something on YouTube and Brandon isn't doing the laugh he only uses with his brothers.
The Nativity Play gets a little bit bigger and a little more crazy every year. Daisy was the smiliest Wise Man you have ever seen. And Ike was the runaway Joseph.

Rosy is still terrified of Santa.  She is polite but she just kindly declines the invitation to sit on his lap.  All she wanted for Christmas this year is a tiny tree with ornaments and her Oma already took her to get one so she could tell St. Nick to stuff it because she already got what she wanted.
Rocky asked for the Sea Otter Calico Critter family.
Ike sat down and seemed to have the same slight distrust he has for all the regular people who pick him up.  He didn't seem at all alarmed and only a little bit interested.

Ike loved the pinata so much that he was the only kid that got two tries.  He hit it and giggled so hard and then cried until we let him have one more shot at it.
Pokeball
Daisy wanted a stuffed octopus "because I am starting to get into octopus right now."

Dad's mustache countdown.
Sister friends at The Pie having such a great time.  This is the face I make when I am trying to suck in after eating way too much pizza.

The key got locked in the room with all the Christmas candy at Mike and Kathy's.  I immediately blamed Ike but this time he wasn't to blame.  He watched everybody try and break in and then decided that he would help out.
Christmas Village is my favorite because I can peek in all the windows without having to pretend that I am not.  In this place there is no need to be discreet.

From One Home to Another

Our first Christmas tree decorated completely by the kids.  Every day I would find new things added.
Ice Storms have taken over Eugene once again.  I didn't get many good photos but it is truly like you walked into Elsa's frozen world.
We do our best to keep things fun when we are stuck inside.

Daddy makes sure that we all get our exercise.

I found this list in Rocky's room.  I hope that she takes some of her own advice, especially the one that says, 'Agree sometimes.'
The transition between our two homes the long and lovely drive between Eugene and Ogden.  We have had such great fortune that all the times we have gone back and forth we have been safe and without trouble.  The kids are great little road trippers and we have made lots of little driving family traditions.

If I had the ability I would make it so that we could all be transported through flu powder or beams and immediately be in one place or the other, but since that isn't an option I have to admit that I find a lot of joy in the journey.

It is especially fun when the destination is Christmas with family.  I don't know if there is anything happier than these Riglets.

Who are these jokers?
And our first official piece of business of course is to cheer on our Wildcats.  I will never get sick of good ol' Weber State.

Nice.

The Eugene Creche Exhibit is one of our favorite traditions.

Not so Angelic
Ike doesn't go to school but that doesn't stop him from waiting with his sisters out in the cold.  They don't take the bus but on Monday mornings we outside for Brandon to bring the car after he makes his burrito delivery.
Rocky and Daisy participated in the Las Posadas play at their school.  Rocky had a bunch of speaking parts that were all in Spanish and she worked really hard at presenting a believable performance.  They both also had a chance to ring the bells during one of the songs.  Earlier that day the school was closed because of weather and I must confess that I was less than enthusiastic about going out on such an icy night.  Once I got there and the show started I was mesmerized.  Those two darling girls of mine were the only kids I could see on that stage.  The others were great too, but my mother's heart took over and I was so proud.
 Aren't they just the cutest
So what do you do on a day in Eugene when the roads are all closed because of ice storms?  Well, if you are a Riglet you spend three hours watching Hairspray Live. They sat quietly except for when they burst into dancing fits.  You can't stop the beat.
The ward nativity had a lot of angels, a few naughty lambs, and the sweetest little Mary you ever saw.

A Memorable Moment
We had the best time with some of our friends making gingerbread houses.  We have such an awesome Eugene family.  We kept our house nice all the way until the night before we left town.  Then the kids had a heyday tasting it all. Delicious!
RIP gingerbread house.  You were the best!
Don't let Ike go free.  This is what happens when I try to use the bathroom alone.  Five minutes of freedom becomes a huge job.

They opened a Wendy's in Eugene.  The lines are out the door but it is so worth it.  Just look at those smiles.
