Time Machine

It is amazing how my blog magically goes back in time to showcase cute pictures from the past. I'll be catching up on the summer for awhile.

Daisy is such a little snuggler. She loves to be bundled up in blankets, even when it is hot.

I pulled this hat out of my first try bag. It seem that whenever I make something for the first time it always has some sort of problem. I've come to expect the inevitable and usually use the funny colors when I have a new pattern. Like any good mom, I make hats for all my friends' kids and my baby goes bareheaded. I wasn't going to give this as a gift so I guess I'll stick it on my child. This hat has several mistakes in it, but you can't tell because she makes it look pretty darn good. Besides, Kelly Green is always in style in Eugene.

This friendly smile looks a little suspicious considering the look on Daisy's face.

The Stake 5K with Oma and Opa was a highlight of the summer. Although the mile walk turned out to be less than a half mile and the 5K was full of hills, it was a great way to spend a Saturday morning. The four of them placed really well in the "old people pushing babies" category.

Bedtime

No matter how crazy our day goes my girls always seem to work their way back into good graces at night.
For example, when I saw this...

I forgot about the screaming in the grocery store.
And when I saw this...

the dried applesauce that was spewed all over my shirt didn't seem quite as frustrating.

Something about this adorable moment wiped the 600 "NO!"s off my radar.

When I was in college I took a technical sales class which taught me two things. The first one was that I have absolutely no interest in working in any form of sales. The second thing was to always end with your best pitch because the last thing you say is usually the only thing that gets remembered.
If I'm only going to remember one thing from my day, by all means, let it be this.

P.S. We had to say goodbye to our sweet friend Anu this week. She is headed back to India to get married. She and her future hubby are from the same home town but had to come all the way to the U.S. to find each other.

We had always planned that I would go to India for her wedding but it doesn't look like it is going to work out. It is okay though because she's got 900 other guests to take care of. She told me that her spiritual leader took the birthdates of the bride and groom and compared them with the star charts in order to plan an auspicious time for the ceremony. Although the wedding begins at 5 A.M. the actual marriage will be at 11:50 P.M. which is way past my bedtime so it is probably for the best that I can't be there. She promised that she will send pictures of the 6 Saris that she has already picked out for the various ceremonies.
I have loved my friend and will miss her a lot.

Dino Park

Fishies

Treehouse

The kids had such a great time at the Treehouse Museum. I don't know who was more exhausted afterward, the kids or the adults.

Two Fairs and Lots of Animals

We had an awesome time at the petting zoo at the Davis County Fair

Weber County had the best goats.

There were some other toddlers watching and Rocky had to give me her "Mom, you are so embarrassing" look.

After seeing all the animals at the fair Daisy decided that she would like to be in better touch with her inner-bear. Here she is modeling my newest project.

Splash Park

We took advantage of the splash park in South Ogden. It is free and a lot of fun...and it's free.
Rocky prefers to drink the water that has been loaded with chemicals. She thinks it makes up for all the flouride free water that she gets in Eugene.

Joanna prefers to hang out on the outskirts to study the watershed.

I'm not sure what is was going on with X but I have a suspicion that it has something to do with cooties.

Ginny and Daisy prefer to hang out with Grandma and the Cheese Nips.

Grandma, Grandpa and Paul

Okay, so I'm playing catch-up on the summer but back a few months ago we spent a lovely evening hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa Howard and my uncle Paul. The good thing about family is that even when you haven't seen them for a while you always know that you'll be as close as ever.

Joanna chose not to participate so instead Ginny made sure to include the bag of chips.

Rocky and Ginny are Best Frenemies. When they love they love hard, and when they fight, they fight just as hard.
This was one of the good moments...I think.

Daisy is always a favorite with everyone. We'll still if it still holds when she's two.
